Dr Silvija Ābele

GAPS diet for children with ASD and ADHD, and the gut-brain connection

Dr Silvija Ābele is a nutritionist, certified GAPS practitioner, certified Bioindividual nutrition consultant, and a published researcher, based in Riga, Latvia. After almost 30 years in the academic environment (PhD in chemistry), Silvija changed her career path – she first studied Homeopathy, then she became a certified GAPS practitioner. Now Silvija holds a Master's degree in Nutrition science (University of Latvia, 2019) and a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from Riga Stradiņš University (2021). Her professional interests include – low carb diets (GAPS), gut health, autistic spectrum disorder, ADD/ADHD, autoimmunity, fertility, children’s health. Silvija initiated and contributed to the Latvian translation and edition of books “Gut and Psychology Syndrome” and “Put Your Heart in Your Mouth” by Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride.
