Jaws: The story of a hidden epidemic. The cause and cure of malocclusion
Dr. Sandra Kahn D.D.S., M.S.D. Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics has been involved in craniofacial panels at UCSF and Standford. Dr. Sandra Kahn began her work in orthodontics with a specialty in physical anthropology at the University of California in Berkeley focusing her studies on human craniofacial growth and development. After 22 years of clinical experience in orthodontics treating thousands of patients, Dr. Kahn was not satisfied with traditional orthodontics as a solution for treating her own children. In 2013, she retired from “traditional” orthodontics to focus in orthodontics related to a healthy airway, with a concentration on pediatric prevention of long-term Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Some noticeable achievements:
- Author of "Let's Face it: A Guide to Optimal Health, Facial and Dental Development", "GOPex: Good Oral Posture Exercises", "Jaws: The Story of a Hidden Epidemic", "Breathe 4.0" and "Forwardontics Protocols".
- Translated Dr. Mew's book "The Cause and Cure of Malocclusion".
- Developed the Kahn-Bow protraction device, the Forwardontics Up-Locker and the Up-Lock pacifier series, Nasometer and Nasometer Flux.
- Multiple scientific publications include indexed journals in anthropology, otolaryngology and recently BioScience.
